You've just reminded me I need to do a little more work on my profile. I've just set up a website which I will post on here asap, but being a perfectionist, want to wait till I get the Domain I'd really like (shouldn't be more than a week away). Printmaking plays very much a secondary role in my work - mainly mono-printing. However, I am currently in collaboration with Stephanie May (no name coincidence - she's on this chat site too) who owns a very impressive printing press! We're both looking again at things we learnt on degree, such as dry-point, and if we can get the equipment - acid etching. The latter I would most like to do again, because I love intricacy of detail every now and again - and etching into a plate with a good sharp tool is really good for this. In fact I remember being so satisfied with the plates, that I exhibited them in a student show alongside the actual prints... First and foremost however - I've really identified that I am a painter, namely landscapes. Solitude and nature seem very important themes...I rarely paint people. I think it's partly because I'm shy of people - particularly in a non-specific art context (life-drawing being an example of art-context). Otherwise, I'm not totally sure why. The website has plenty on this, and a growing folio - I'll get it sign posted here asap. As for how I am marketing my work - that's really my current issue. I don't yet know the right market for my work and I think it's going to involve a lot of experimenting to eliminate all the wrong things. I think I mentioned in my blurb that I am an autistic (emerging) artist. I struggle with the term disabled sometimes, because of the connotations that have built up around that word. What it does mean, is that my work is an important vehicle for all sorts of things. It represents my persistence - even though I've let go any biographical theme for the time being. I know I'm not alone in that, but nonetheless it is central to it. I'm about to apply for the first time, to the hoffman prize draw for autism and aspergers in drawing and painting, in London next Feb. The collaboration with artist Steph will commence in July. We will be showing at Hangar Farm Arts centre, Totton.
I'm also working with Dada-South (Disability Arts Development Agency in the South East), and through their Dada-Exchange programme, I see an artist advisor to tackle my specific situation/s. This has opened a very important door...

So, that was probably slightly longer than you expected, but I hope it answers at least some questions. I would love to know what you do, I'm very new to this site and don't know an awful lot about it, or the people who run it. It was Steph who kindly sent me the invite. But things like loveart seem a great idea for helping to punch a hole in my art bubble. Watch this space for the upcoming website.

During my BA I worked at a local school (Linwood School) for a year working as a Teaching Assistant. Although this wasn't workshop based I was still able to take a more hands on approach with the class. I have also helped plan and present several workshops/presentations/tutorials to BA Fine Art yr 1.
I am very interested in taking part in workshops with schools.
What would be expected of me? Is there anyway I could assist someone with a workshop? Im fairly new to this! Any information would be much appreciated. Thank You, Steph.
